ALLOWING A HORIZON TO APPEAR

Auf Einladung von plattformPlus reiste Stephan Herwig zusammen mit seinen langjährigen Tänzer*innen Anna Fontanet und Maxwell McCarthy 2019 für eine zweiwöchige Probenresidenz nach São Paulo. Es entstand ein puristisches, klar strukturiertes Duett aus verschiedenen visuellen Rhythmen, in denen sich die beiden in kontinuierlichem Wechsel immer wieder neu aufeinander beziehen. Das Duett wurde zum Ausgangspunkt für das Gruppenstück „Rhythm & Silence“. ​

On the invitation of plattformPlus, Stephan Herwig – together with his longtime dancers Anna Fontanet and Maxwell McCarthy – travelled in 2019 to São Paulo for a two-week rehearsal residency. What developed there was a puristic, precisely structured duet composed of various visual rhythms in which they both, in constant alteration, continually relate to each other in new ways. This duet became the starting point for the ensemble piece “Rhythm & Silence”.
